For many people, Baracoa is the most beautiful place on the biggest island of the Caribbean as well as the oldest town of Cuba, founded in 1511. By completion of the mountain road “La Farola” leading through the biggest Cuban mountain chain “Sierra del Purial”in the year 1965, Baracoa has up to now conserved its original charm. In addition, with its flora & fauna, natural beaches, bays, stream valleys within close proximity and the “Parque Nacional Alejandro de Humboldt” (UNESCO World Heritage Site) - one of the biggest natural reserve worldwide, Baracoa is probably the greenest town in Cuba.
